Acropolis hill and the masterpieces build peripheral to it, symbolize the grandeur of the classical period, the power of artistic lines in architecture, the dominance of pure aesthetics over time.

The understanding of light as a natural source of illuminance, today is recognized as a source of energy, a symbol of wisdom and unity.  

Athens today celebrates the opportunity to artificially illuminate its streets with artworks from Greece and the world.

Athens welcomes us in a unique urban walk, through a light-art exploration.

Classical and contemporary coexist, static and kinetic balance, analogue meets digital in a street art exhibition, with multi cultural signature.

Festival's illumination spreads its presence throughout the city center and in major points of historical or cultural reference.

As a result, Athens City Center is transformed into an open gigantic art gallery. 

Artists compose a bright puzzle of authentic and innovative art pieces, using light as a medium.

The First Edition, The First Light

ALF first edition symbolizes a journey in the world, bringing along into its luggage souvenirs of experiences, creativity, emotions, and diversity.

The 2024 edition shall be the beginning of an annual rendezvous of art revolution, and pan-cultural celebration.

One of the youngest and innovative types of expression, Light Art has the power to bring people together, enhancing our senses with warmth and wonder.

The diversity of this art form can generate emotions and lead people into interaction with each other but also with the enhanced environment.

It brightens up the city, brightens up the spirit of the city, and brings locals and visitors together.

We invite visitors from all around Greece and most importantly we create an attraction pole for both the Athenians and the worldwide visitors.

We want to bring Athens citizens closer to their city and inspire them to participate, embrace the light and interact with each other.
